Baillieston Juniors Academy was launched on 1st December 2024 to offer local boys and girls the opportunity to participate in physical sports through weekly football training sessions and matches. The academy currently welcomes children from the 2016/2017, and 2018 age groups, with plans to include more age groups as it grows.
To kick things off, they hosted an open day on Friday, 17th January at their new home, the Stepford Football Centre. The event was a great success, attracting 25 enthusiastic youngsters who had a fantastic time.
The academy aims to unite communities, encourage participation both as players and volunteers, and boost local sporting activities. It seeks to make a positive impact by promoting values and positive coaching, inspiring young people to engage in physical sports within the community.
At present, they are looking to recruit players born in 2016 at a high intermediate level. Training sessions are held every Friday from 5 pm to 7 pm at Stepford Football Centre, with games taking place on Sundays.
