A group of parishioner volunteers has established a community hub in the church hall at St Paul’s in Shettleston, known as ‘A Wee Blether & Bite’. This hub welcomes everyone from both the parish and the local community every Friday, offering food, drink, a warm place, and companionship, all free of charge. Initially set up last year, the hub operates thanks to the generosity of some of the patrons, who are happy to ‘pay forward’ for others through donations. This support helps it remain sustainable. Its mission is to be supportive neighbours to those in Shettleston and the east end of the city, particularly individuals who are facing financial difficulties or experiencing loneliness and isolation.
