On Thursday, 5th December, members of the 144th Scout Group visited the Smurfit Westrock plant in Tannochside, Uddingston, to express their gratitude for the generous funding they received from the Smurfit Kappa Foundation. They showcased some of the fantastic equipment they have been able to purchase, such as camping gear, tents, and outdoor games.
This funding will allow the group to grow further and set the stage for future achievements. The funding of their camping equipment will enable older members to work towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award while providing younger members with the joy of outdoor experiences, free from electronic gadgets. The group would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Val Wells, the
HR Manager at Smurfit Westrock, for her invaluable assistance with the funding application.
All group sections get together on a Monday night at St Andrews Church Hall, Bredisholm Road, Baillieston at the following times:
Beavers (6 - 8 yrs): 6.15pm – 7.15pm
Cubs (8 - 10 yrs): 7.15pm – 8.30pm
