Tesco Community Update By Luzier Jeffrey, Tesco Shettleston Community Champion

Updated: Dec 16, 2024

It’s Chrissttmmaasss! I know, I’m sorry, but I love this time of year. The shop is full of lovely treats and gift ideas, and hopefully, you will see me from time to time in the store with some yummy samples.

During October and November, we proudly collect for Poppy Scotland in-store. We had our table out every day, which wouldn’t be possible without our fabulous volunteers. I also volunteer and collect at Glasgow Fort for the charity, and it’s a great way to raise money for this worthy cause. At this time, we don’t have our total yet; however, we are aiming to beat last year’s amount of £7300.

Our Stronger Starts Grants are more popular than ever. One of our most recent winners was Whiterose Community Centre and some of the staff and patrons dropped in for a wee photo opportunity. I wish them good luck with everything they have planned for the future.

Donations are still going out thick and fast, especially raffl e prizes to school Christmas fayres. Please remember that all requests for donations must be made in writing for my attention. I would like to finish by saying thank you to everyone who reads my updates. While we have our notice board in the store, this is such a good way for us to reach

out to a wider audience.

Wishing you all a very happy Christmas and a healthy and happy 2025
