Tesco Parkhead Extra Community Update December 2020

It’s been another busy and hectic month for us working in the local community.

There’s a chance to win one of ten amazing prizes while raising funds for Glasgow NE Foodbank and our Tesco Charity Partnerships BHF, Diabetes UK and CRUK. Find out more in the store.

We have a Christmas trolley in front of the checkouts for customers to donate a new toy to Parkhead Salvation Army who are working in partnership with the social work to give

children in the east end a present to open on Christmas morning.

Thanks to everyone who turned out to support our annual food drive for Glasgow NE Foodbank. The response from our schools and community was overwhelming. It is much appreciated and very much needed.

We had a great response to our schools and family Halloween competitions and engaged with our online community to vote for the winners. Thanks to all who entered and to the Fairylady who donated two amazing fairy houses as prizes.

We have supported Westercraigs Nursery, Bridgeton Nursery, St Thomas’ Primary School and Parkhead Community Nursery with outdoor learning accessories. Many thanks to B&Q for their amazing donations. Thanks also to Tony Beal Ltd for 100% waterproof tarpaulins and Jewson for wood to build structures at Westercraigs Nursery.

We have donated to East End Empowering Stars, Zennistoun Hub, Christmas boxes for troops abroad, Glasgow NE Foodbank, Free Wheel North, Golfhill Care Home and lots more.

I was honoured to be Highly Commended in the Scotland Loves Local High Street Heroes Awards.
