Hello again...and welcome to October! I’ve been a busy bee recently! We had our collection for Fareshare and North West Scotland Foodbanks albeit slightly different this time as we were not allowed to hand out leaflets or have volunteer helpers. I would like to say thanks to everyone who donated to this – your generosity meant we collected 41 boxes of food items. This equates to around 1200 meals! Remember that Tesco works out the total weight of donations, convert it to cash and give Fareshare 20% of the total!
The best part of my month was being able to help complete the outside area at Thistle Nursery in conjunction with City of Play and other volunteers. The place looks absolutely amazing and feedback from the staff is that the kids don’t want to go inside! Well with a play area as good as this who can blame them? The pictures speak for themselves.
My new project is to revamp the outdoor play area at Sandaig Nursery. At the moment it’s soulless and grey. With outdoor play becoming such a big part of the day it’s important that we try and do all we can to help stimulate little minds.
